Harvard Law Grad Cops Miss Jamaica World

THE second time seems to be the charm for Chantal Raymond. After a previous attempt at the Miss Jamaica World title in 2008, she decided to give it a shot this year, and on Saturday night, walked away with the title, prizes and the opportunity to represent Jamaica at Miss World in Sanya, China, later this year.

Just minutes after her coronation, it was an excited, yet extremely composed Raymond who explained to the Observer that she did not feel that she gave the contest her all on her first attempt. "This is something I have always wanted to do, however the first time I did it for the fun. This time, however, I was more determined to put in the work required to get the desired results," she stated.

Netherlands 2-1 Brazil

WORLD CUP FINALS OUTLOOK....

The Netherlands produced a stunning second-half comeback to reach the semi-finals as Brazil's World Cup imploded in a dramatic game in Port Elizabeth.

After taking an early lead through Robinho's cool finish, the pre-tournament favourites were pegged back following an awful defensive mix-up early in the second-half and were found wanting in defence again soon afterwards when Wesley Sneijder headed in.

Mr Big, where are you?

Word from those close to the inside is that there is a job to be done and there's no stopping until it's finished. The young, many of them illiterate, males firing the shots for 'Dudus', did not order expensive, sophisticated guns and ammunition from big US suppliers, ship them in, clear Customs or wherever

and organise their islandwide distribution. Mr Big, where are you?

Sprint legend Michael Johnson believes Usain Bolt should consider moving up to 400m after an impressive relay display. Bolt clocked a 43.58-second split in a 4×400 relay at a local meet in Jamaica 10 days ago.  American Johnson’s world record from a standing start is 43.18 sec and his best split time in a relay – from a rolling start – was 42.94.  “He has the ability to be a world record holder. If it were me, I would move to the 400 now,” said Johnson.  Bolt set world records for the 100m and 200m last year and was part of the Jamaica 4×100m relay team that set a world record and won Olympic gold in Beijing in 2008.
However, no athlete has ever held the world record in the 100, 200 and 400 metres.Last month, running the anchor leg for the Racers Lions team, Bolt collected the baton in fourth position, 20 metres behind the leader, and managed to close the gap to just 0.44 sec at the finish line. Johnson recently visited Bolt in Jamaica while filming for a forthcoming BBC Inside Sport documentary.
