It's Back-To-Studio Time For Wasp
WHILE it's back-to-school time for students, deejay Wasp acknowledges that, for him, it's back-to-studio. The artiste, whose Unfair Officer single is still one of the most requested songs, is working on a number of music-related projects which include voicing for a few producers and establishing his own record label.
"When you say back-to-studio, that's me," the deejay stated. "We are cooking up some new things... crazy chef with some gourmet recipes," Wasp said, his enthusiasm for his work clearly obvious.

Gyptian, Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Damian Marley and Gappy Ranks battle for MOBO Award
Reggae and dancehall artistes Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Gyptian, Damian Marley and UK-based Gappy Ranks, will battle for the Best Reggae Act title at this year's MOBO Awards. This year marks the 15th year of the MOBOs, which were established to celebrate music of black origin.
Kartel, Mavado, and Marley are previous nominees. This is the first nomination for both Gappy and Gyptian.
UK based rapper Tinie Tempah leads the pack with 4 nominations. Other multiple nominees include Dizzee Rascal, Professor Green, N-Dubz and Plan B. Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Drake, the Black Eyed Peas and Rihanna are also nominated.

ZJ Liquid's Fate Hangs In The Balance - Still No Confirmations From ZIP
Despite rumours that ZJ Liquid has been fired from ZIP FM, officials for the radio station have been tight lipped on the matter.
When THE STAR contacted Chad Young of IRIE FM, parent company of ZIP FM, Young could not give any confirmation as to whether Liquid was still with the station. A few weeks ago, the ZJ, real name Michael Brissett, got in trouble once again after an incident that took place during his Wednesday 'Fresh 2 Death' segment.

Wasp Happy With His Career Direction
DANCEHALL deejay, Wasp, is happy with the path his career is currently taking. With his management structure falling into place and a growing repertoire of conscious tunes, the artiste is confident of success.
"When you do a conscious song in the dancehall it is so different from doing a regular song. The life span is longer and it has a wider appeal," the artiste declared.

Every girl's summer anthem is now available in popular music marketplace, iTunes. Denyque's Summer Love was released on iTunes a few weeks ago, but the singer decided to hold back on announcing it pending the release of the video for the song.
While the song is continuing to boom locally, the artiste's manager Jade Lee says that it is starting to make waves in other markets.

Quite in-demand leading up to and during the Independence season, the reggae act performed at Eclipse Summer Invasion in Westmoreland, Mandela Park in St Andrew, Ocho Rios Seafood Festival, the annual Denbigh celebrations in Clarendon, the Independence show at Ken's Wildflower in Portmore, Manchester Fiesta in that parish and put in a tight set at Saturday night's Miss Jamaica (World) coronation show.

Clean lyrics as Pamputtae performs for St Thomas kids
Following hot on the heels of her highly entertaining Reggae Sumfest performance in which she made good use of a call-up by deejay Spice to perform their collab, Slim vs Fluffy, Pamputtae again scored big over the recent Independence period.
This effervescent, plus-size woman, who proudly represents the fluffy females, showed her softer, more maternal side when she hosted and performed at a fun day for kids in Sunny Hill St Thomas on August 6. Pamputtae was the toast of the town as she got close to the kids, who just swarmed all over the 'goodas' girl.
