T.I. is BACK!

On the day the hip-hop nation lost one of its beloved and prolific megastars, another one has returned.
Just hours after Lil Wayne was sentenced to one year in prison on weapons charges, T.I. gave the world notice that he's returning with a vengeance. The King of the South announced to a select group of DJs in a conference call that his new album is coming out on August 24 — and, as expected, he released his new single, "I'm Back."
"I ain't never let you down, I'mma shine on sight," Tip raps on the song. "Keep your mind on your grind and off of mine's, all right?/ Hard, I'mma ball on those squares, I flow/ A quarter million dollar cars everywhere I go ... No matter what they doin' they don't do it like me ... recognize I'm back."
Later in the first verse, Tip lays the fiery, brash delivery he's beloved for.
"You ain't got a pimp bone in your body," Tip chastises, throwing thunder at fraudulent MCs. "I can tell you ain't never bought a key or caught a body/ N---a probably just seen Wayne, Gucci Mane, me and Boosie all go to prison/ Now he flip his whole image/ N---a trippin'/ Listen, dude, for you that ain't in the cards." The song was helmed by new Grand Hustle producers the Trackslayerz, and is available for download right here on PartySpree.com.
An hour before the song hit the Internet, Tip held the conference call, for which he did not take questions but reflected on the song and announced his album's release date, according to audio of the call posted on DJ Judge Mental's Web site. There is a title for the LP, but he declined to reveal it.
"I appreciate the support and how hard I was going in during the brief hiatus," Tip said. "The support don't go unnoticed and I don't take it lightly. This marks a special day for us, because we putting out the first song off the album — not an official first single, just something to keep the streets warm. It's properly entitled 'I'm Back.' It's a lot of things that needed to be spoken on. In my absence, it was a lot of things that went down, a lot of matters that needed to be addressed. This was the greatest platform for me to do it. It was the first song I did when I came home. You get me fresh out the box going in. I'm sure you guys will enjoy it."
Tip spoke for a little over three minutes. He said that he should be traveling from city to city this summer.
"It ain't gonna be long before all this is behind me," he promised, referring to his prison sentence on weapons charges, which is expected to end within the next few weeks; he was released to a halfway house in December and last month made his first public appearance since heading to prison. "Middle of April, beginning of May. Y'all gonna start seeing me. Y'all already know, once again it's on. Like we always do this time."
The call ended with a final pledge of excellence from Tip.
"As long as there is air in my esophagus, champ, I'mma keep going," he said. "Nothing is gonna stop that. Nothing short of a 12 gauge is gonna stop me from doing what I do, champ. I just wanna say thank y'all and we gonna keep movin' on."

"A totally different beat was made and sent to me and I just fit in at the right places to suit the vibe," he said.
And, he is very proud of doing such a collaboration.
"I love it. I've been listening to Diddy since I was a teenager. I am proud to work with him. I like the remix too," Serani said.
Adding, "Basically, it does give me a hype and keeps my buzz going. Doing remixes keep you current."

With the many successes coming his way, Serani said he is pleased with the direction his career is going in.
"It's going pretty great. I have a brand new number one with Skip To My Luu. So, I'm really proud of that. I'm working on my mixtape to just keep the buzz. You can't take a break at this minute. If you take a break, somebody is ready to take your place," he said, noting that the mixtape will be released this week.

The defence team representing jailed entertainer Buju Banton says it has dug up more dirt on the informant who helped United States (US) federal agents build a drug case against the reggae artiste.
A report in the Tampa Tribune newspaper quotes Buju’s lawyers saying that the informant has been paid US$3.3 million for helping US law enforcement in numerous cases over several years.
Buju’s lawyers made the revelation in a Florida court on Thursday.
An attorney for the entertainer whose given name is Mark Myrie Buju Banton, whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie, says he plans to argue that the singer was entrapped by the informant, who pestered him for months to join him in a cocaine deal.
Buju is being held without bail on charges of conspiring to distribute cocaine as well as aiding and abetting his co-defendants in possessing a firearm during the course of cocaine distribution.
The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has said in court filings that Banton contacted a confidential informant about a possible cocaine purchase.
The next day, Buju and other men met with the informant at a restaurant, where the DEA and local police had set up video and audio surveillance.
Defense attorney David Oscar Markus told U.S. Magistrate Thomas Wilson on Thursday that prosecutors have not provided enough information about the informant for him to be prepared to cross-examine him at Buju’s trial scheduled for April 19.
Mr. Markus outlined information that the government has given him about the informant that he was paid more than US$35,000 for his cooperation in the case against Buju Banton and is also paid on a contingency basis, receiving a portion of the money the judge orders the defendant to forfeit.
The informant was convicted in South Florida in 1993 of distributing cocaine in a case that brought a minimum mandatory prison sentence of 10 years.
He transported large amounts of cocaine and marijuana from 1984 to 1993 and is a legal, permanent resident of the US from Colombia.
It was also revealed that the informant is in involved in a tax dispute with the IRS.
He has also worked with the prosecutor in Myrie’s case for more than 10 years.
But Mr. Marcus says he needs more details, such as details about the tax case, information on other cases the informant has worked and specifics on his criminal history.

On February 25, one day after it was officially announced that Ryno, whose real name is Romane Anderson, had left the Gaza, his Waterford home was sprayed with bullets, but fortunately no one was injured. According to media reports, Ryno relocated his family to an undisclosed location days after the incident occurred.
Following the shooting incident, Yardflex.com posted an article on its website, headlined “Anyone Who Does Anything to Ryno Has to Answer to Me”, in which Kartel is quoted as saying, “I condemn today’s shooting in Waterford, and I condemn any attack made on Blak Ryno. Regardless of what transpires between the Portmore Empire and Blak Ryno, whether or not he is a part of the Empire, I will not tolerate any acts of violence against him. ANYBODY who does ANYTHING to Ryno has to answer to me.”
Commenting on his former protégé’s departure, Kartel told a Jamaican media house, The Weekend Star, that Ryno is a confused individual.
“Ryno is, in my analysis, a confused individual going through some sort of post-adolescence trauma, where in his pursuit to find himself is getting his priorities mixed up and as a result, is making decisions in a subconscious, bewildered state of mind.”
Following his departure, Ryno released a single titled ‘Mi Lef’, which is aimed at adding clarity to the looming tensions between himself and Portmore Empire CEO and President Vybz Kartel.
According to 876Radio.com, following the debut of the single on the airwaves, a new wave of events unfolded including the firebombing of Ryno’s Winchester Avenue apartment in St. Andrew and an alleged reprisal attack on Gaza stronghold community, Big Yard, off Mannings Hill Road, that left one man dead in process.
The website stated that Kartel denied any knowledge of the shooting and firebombing incidents when contacted and that he and Ryno are not on the same level, where he does a song and Kartel replies.
Ryno is the third artiste to depart the Empire. The first one to have left is Lisa Hype, who was dismissed following a compromising photograph of her that circulated on the internet. She was followed by Gaza Kim, who exited after she received a beating, which sources alleged might have been organised by Kartel.
In defence of Kartel’s mounting tensions surrounding Ryno’s departure, his new protégé, Popcaan, has stepped up in the frontline with a single titled ‘Dem Sell We Out’.
According to 876Radio.com, Popcaan’s single is said to pay homage to Kartel and another Gaza artiste, Jah Vinci, while taking a series of subliminal swipes at his ex-compatriot Ryno, labelling him as an envious Judas that sold out his friends for the acquisition of travel documents and other monetary gains.
Popcaan begins the song by saying…“Nuh care who wan leave empire, cuz a forever, big up Jah Vinci me brother, Addi me father…”
Lisa Hyper, formerly known as Lisa Hype, has also addressed the issue in a song called ‘Di Call’, in which she sings about not liking what is happening with the Empire.
Hopefully, the now stirring beef between Kartel and Ryno will simmer down as the former, in December 2009, ended a three-year feud between himself and Mavado since his departure from The Alliance in 2006.
The feud between Kartel and the head of The Alliance, Bounty Killer, had Gully god and Killer’s protégé Mavado in lyrical battles and tune for tunes, which eventually spilled over into violent clashes on the streets among young people.
Both artistes gave the Jamaican government a commitment to end their feud and even performed together at a staged show.
At a concert held in St. Kitts and organised by the People’s Action Movement, Kartel said that… “People take the music too literal and want hurt one another over the music, but me and Mavado we’re not fighting each other, we nar war with one another. So we decide that we need to talk to the youths in Jamaica and make dem know seh peace, unity and strength. And we as black people done get we fair share of sufferation already and we done get we fair share of tear drops, so it’s love and unity and more happiness…unity is strength”.
In an exclusive interview following the concert, Kartel said that he had about 15 artistes in his fold and they refer to him as their father, and he calls himself ‘Addi di teacher’. In some quarters, it is hoped he would adopt a mature and responsible approach concerning his Empire and artistes so that they continue in progress and not “sufferation” of which he previously stated black people has had enough.
The Portmore Empire was established in 2007 after Kartel’s departure from the Alliance in 2006. It consists of members such as Popcaan, Singa Blinga, Dosa Medicine, Lisa Hype, Shawn Storm, Gaza Indu, Sheba and Jah Vinci.
Blak Ryno was an original member of the Portmore Empire and was seemingly one of the closest to Kartel. He often cited him as a major influence and called him “daddy” on numerous occasions.

D'Angelo Busted for sex solicitation

It wasn’t a good day for D’Angelo. The R&B singer-songwriter was arrested March 6 in New York for soliciting an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex.
According to reports the 36-year-old artist who released the critically acclaimed platinum albums Brown Sugar and Voodoo, was cruising the West Village in his Range Rover when he spotted a woman he thought to be a prostitute.
After offering money to an undercover officer at about 2:30 a.m., the Grammy-Award winner was busted as authorities found $12,000 stashed in his SUV.
When contacted D’Angelo’s manager Lindsay Guion about the incident, he said: “It’s a legal matter and I can’t comment until we get all the facts.”
This is not D’Angelo’s first brush with the law. The "Untitled” star, who has been working on a long-awaited comeback album, was arrested on charges of drunk driving and cocaine and marijuana possession near his hometown of Richmond in January of 2005. D’Angelo later plead guilty to the charges.
In November 2002, a woman claimed that the artist cut her off in a lane leading to a shopping mall and then allegedly cursed and spit on her. When cops showed up to his Richmond home, D’Angelo was reportedly pepper sprayed after resisting arrest.
